For over two decades, Dr. Sandeep A. Patwardhan has been dedicated to the care of children with orthopaedic conditions and is widely regarded as one of India’s leading paediatric orthopaedic surgeons. He is a Professor of Orthopaedics and Paediatric Orthopaedic Specialist at the Sancheti Institute for Orthopaedics & Rehabilitation, Pune, where he has been associated since 1999. His clinical expertise includes paediatric deformity correction, cerebral palsy surgery, clubfoot, hip preservation, limb lengthening and growth modulation, congenital anomalies, and paediatric trauma. Over the years, he has trained at renowned centres in Singapore, Germany, and the United States, and has played an active role in advancing paediatric orthopaedics through research, teaching, and international collaboration. Dr. Patwardhan currently serves as the Vice President of the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India (POSI) and is the President-Elect (2026–2030). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters, serves as the Founder Editor of the International Journal of Paediatric Orthopaedics, and is a regular faculty member at national and international conferences. Beyond his academic contributions, he has led several community initiatives, conducting paediatric orthopaedic camps and charitable surgeries across India for children with complex musculoskeletal disorders.
