Dr. Atul Ashok Patil is a senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Sancheti Hospital, Pune, with over 25 years of experience in managing complex orthopaedic trauma. He specialises in pelvi-acetabular trauma, complex fractures, and knee and hip arthroscopy. He currently serves as the Departmental Chairman at Sancheti Hospital and is a Professor of Orthopaedics recognised by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS). Dr. Patil has undergone advanced fellowship training in Germany, the USA, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, and Thailand, with specialised expertise in pelvi-acetabular surgery, trauma, and hip arthroscopy, and is an AO International Faculty member. He currently serves as the Secretary of the Association of Pelvi-Acetabular Surgeons of India (2024–2027) and has previously held leadership positions with the Indian Arthroscopy Society, Pune Orthopaedic Society, and the Alumni Association of the Sancheti Institute. An accomplished academician, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in national and international journals, presented award-winning research, including the Best Paper Presentation Award at POSAC for his work on acetabular fractures, contributed extensively as faculty at leading national and international orthopaedic conferences, and actively participates in public education, trauma awareness programmes, and community orthopaedic outreach initiatives.
